George Francis

Interview on January 21st, 2007

Name: George FrancisAngel Wing 02

Date of Birth: 30th January, 1980

What is your favourite colour?
I guess you could say black…

Favourite artist(s)… local or otherwise?
Well I have always liked the work of HR Geiger.

In a nutshell, what do you do?… what medium… and how would you describe your genre?…
Amm… slight animé, slight something else. It’s like animé influenced, but with a local twist.

How did you first get an interest in art?
Cartoons. Looking at cartoons growing up, from Thunderbirds down the line…

Where/How did you learn?

A brief history of your career…
Well not too much. My first job was fine painting… which I hated. Then lets see, I was working on a comic with some guys up in St. James and about then I spent a really short time in (The Trinidad) Express. That was a lot of work… lots of late hours.

What are some of your current art projects, personal or otherwise?
Right now, I’m doing a comic with my friend Masood Ali for the newspapers.

What are some of your upcoming projects, personal or otherwise?
I had a few comic book ideas in the works. There was one with the characters designed already, it’s just a matter of putting the stories together. Basically it’s my lil twist on fairy tails. It’s using some of the same characters, but that’s where the similarities end. It focuses mostly on Little Red Riding Hood, running down the wolf… who is a ware-wolf causing trouble throughout the land.

Hobbies?… What do you do for kicks?
Music and Playstation.

What’s your favourite food?
I ah man does eat real food. Amm… but I guess you could say Subway.

If you could be any animal, what animal would you be and why?
Octopus. Interesting question…

Okay and finally… what are your long term career/life ambitions?
Well I’d like to continue doing comics all my life… It would be nice to be regularly published, but once it’s something that’s always different.
